Building the habit of getting up early every day is not an easy thing to do. Especially for those of you who are used to sleeping late, staying up late doing something, or indeed insomnia. So how to be successful at mornings by getting up early? It's not easy to do that doesn't mean it can't be done.
Maybe all this time we still find
it difficult to get up early for several reasons, as I said above, we are used
to doing things late at night so it is difficult to get up early. Another
reason we don't know what the most influential benefits for our lives are when
we wake up in the morning.
If you wake up in the morning at
9am, you will feel sleepy again even though you have to work. This is also what
I often experience so I procrastinate to get up in the morning, just want to
pray at dawn when it's time for sunrise.
This is very human, but it turns
out that this habit is not good for health if it is done in the long term.
Did you know that getting up
early, at least one-third of the night between 3 and 5 am changes our lives.
For Muslims, they certainly know that these times are the fastest times for our
prayers to be answered. The moment we wake up for the midnight prayer is an
intense time for us to communicate with Allah in the silence of the night.
I want to share the story of the
miracle of waking up this morning because I was intending to do riyadhoh.
So far I've only been doing the dawn prayer in the morning, but I'm practicing
to get up before 4 o'clock to be able to pray tahajjud and pray the sunnah qobliyah
at dawn. Apart from having a desire, I also want to be closer to Allah because
I feel that life is very difficult to live if you are far from Allah. Want this
and that feels hard to make it happen. Maybe life's problems will always be
there but when I get closer to Allah then my heart feels calmer in dealing with
it.

Actually, the benefits of getting
up this morning are many. And it is not only in the interest of Muslims to
perform the dawn prayer. There have been many studies conducted abroad which
also state that getting up early has a tremendous impact on us.
What are the benefits of getting
up in the morning?
1. Healthy Body
It is very clear that getting up
early is very healthy for our bodies. Especially if we take the time to get up
in the morning and go out for a while to breathe the air, the cool air has not
been polluted by motor vehicle fumes and other activities that pollute the air.
Doctors also recommend getting up early so that the body is healthy and fit.
2. Reduce Stress
Besides being beneficial for the
health of our bodies, getting up early also maintains our mental health, you
know! Because the mind in the morning is more relaxed and can reduce stress.
It's different if we wake up late and rush to go to the office. Everything is
in a hurry, maybe even breakfast is often missed. By waking up earlier then we
feel more calm.
3. Ready for the Day
The next benefit, of course, is
that when you get up early, you have more time to prepare for the day. So what
if you have a lot of work to do and you have to sleep late at night? This is
simply a matter of time management. Try to rearrange your time to get the job
done. You can try to set the priority scale which should be done first. For
example, tomorrow morning there will be a presentation with a client, the night
before you must prepare the materials, not to mention assignments for other
clients that are still pending. Well, you can set it with a priority scale
based on workload and time. You can start working on which jobs require extra
time and sort out which jobs you will submit first. You can finish the rest
after waking up while reviewing what you have to prepare for that day.
Changing the habit is not easy
but once you succeed in doing it then you will feel a better difference in your
life.
The Tips on How To Be Successful at Mornings
After knowing what are the
benefits behind the habit of getting up early in the morning, especially before
dawn, then how to be successful at mornings by getting up early?
A few days ago I watched a video on
youtube channel from DN Resutari about the benefits of getting up early between
3 – 5. Because I was doing riyadhoh so I was looking for tips on how to
be consistent in getting up early for the tahajjud prayer.
Here are some tips how to be
successful at mornings for getting up early:
1. Wudhu before going to bed
Try to get used to ablution
before going to the bedroom. In addition to praying before going to bed,
ablution is also quite efficacious to be able to wake up early.
Just before going to bed you can
try to communicate with Allah in your own language so that you will be woken up
at 3 o'clock to be able to pray tahajjud. I've been doing this method since
middle school until now. Even today, if I intend to wake up early and ask
Allah, no matter how late I sleep that night, thank God Allah wakes me up on
time. In fact, it is often faster than the alarm that is installed. For
example, I set my alarm at 3.30, sometimes I wake up at 3 am.
2. Set an alarm
Setting this alarm is another
effort to stay awake at the time you want. Because not infrequently I also feel
lazy to wake up in the morning even though I have woken up. And when the alarm
goes off, that feeling of hitting the snooze button is so tempting not to get
out of bed. Then I remember how life can change if no changes are made, how God
can grant your wish if you don't ask and take the time to get closer. Yes, this
is the time. And I forced myself to stay awake.
3. Drink water before bed
Drinking water before bed is to
suggest that in the middle of sleep we feel like urinating and are forced to
wake up. It's quite effective.
4. Provide water beside the
bed
If you want, you can have water
available on the bedside table so that when you wake up or the alarm sounds you
can immediately drink the water and the feeling of sleepiness will disappear.
Well, those are some ways how to
be successful at mornings for getting up early. I myself believe that waking up
earlier means success will be closer to us. Because the experience of getting
up late is always uncomfortable, rushing to prepare everything and not being
prepared optimally at work.
